Miami (OH) Volleyball Schedule 2026

2026 Season Outlook

Miami University's RedHawks open the 2026 season in the Mid-American Conference with a nineteen-player roster drawn heavily from the Midwest - Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois account for most of it. Dan Gwitt's team plays 27 matches, twelve of them at Millett Hall in Oxford, after two August exhibitions against Xavier and Wright State that do not count toward the record. The non-conference schedule is built around three tournaments in three states: the Bearkat Invitational in Huntsville, Texas, Miami's own Miami/Best Western Invitational at Millett Hall, and the ISTAP Collegiate Cup in Montgomery, Alabama. MAC play is structured almost entirely as two-match series against the same opponent on consecutive days, which gives the conference schedule a rhythm most leagues do not have.

The season's emotional center is the Battle of the Bricks against Ohio, played twice - in Athens on November 8 and at Millett Hall on November 12.

Program History & Tradition

Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio, competes in the Mid-American Conference and plays its home volleyball matches at Millett Hall. The RedHawks are a separate institution from the University of Miami Hurricanes of Coral Gables, Florida, who play in the ACC. Miami's rivalry with Ohio, the Battle of the Bricks, is contested across every sport the two schools share and is the most anticipated date on the volleyball calendar; the RedHawks meet the Bobcats twice in 2026. Miami's 2025 season ended with a loss to Toledo in the MAC Tournament.

What to Watch in 2026

The Battle of the Bricks against Ohio is the headline, and it happens twice: at Athens on November 8 and at Millett Hall on November 12. Before that, MAC play opens with a two-match road series at Bowling Green on September 24 and 25, followed by Buffalo at home on October 1 and 2, Eastern Michigan on the road October 15 and 16, and Toledo at home October 30 and 31. Ball State is the exception to the series format, split between a road match on October 6 and a home match on October 20. Non-conference play closes with a home-and-home against Northern Kentucky, at Millett Hall on September 18 and in Highland Heights the next night.

The regular season ends on the road at Western Michigan on November 13, with the MAC Tournament to follow.
